Every graphic designer should be so lucky to have a local neighbourhood that sparks creativity. For me, it is Hintonburg, here in Ottawa. Any walk through this neighbourhood always yields a little design, a little creativity that captures my eye.
Basketball certainly played a role in cultivating my passion to create and design. I remember as a kid being captivated by the type and photography in sports television and marketing. And in some cases even the uniforms.

If you are into typography and posters, and are looking to learn the sweet science, you might consider heading down to the Beaver Boxing Club. I recently joined the club and every time in there is a visual feast. As you might expect from a boxing club that was founded in 1943, the place is filled with photographs and vintage boxing posters. Now if I could only learn not to keep dropping that left hand!
